After all the hoo haa in Sarawak for the past several weeks, finally the Cabinet has made an administrative ruling that Marina Undau are now OFFICIALLY recognised as Bumiputra. To ammend the constitution may take time to so and the cabinet has made a wise decision by making the administrative ruling with immediate effect and directive has been issued to all ministry to comply with the ruling.

According to the new ruling, any child who is born to a Bumiputra father is considered Bumiputra, and it mean that the Article 161a of the Federal Constitution must be ammended. But if look back, why this things can happen?is it the Quota system is much more important than merits?Marina Undau score 9A 1B in her SPM and after being rejected by the Education Ministry by giving a reason that she is Non Bumiputra in her application she had to continue her study to Form 6 which is maybe the worst Nightmare for her and i do believe for the time being she must has felt so frustrated. Her father has written to the Education Ministry for couple of time but seem to no avail and the same reason being given to him. That her daughter is Non Bumiputra.

Previously we all heard about this poor girl from Kuching. Her application to enrolled in Maktab has been rejected at the last minute eventhough she has been through series of interview. The reason given was, because the sized of her physical and she will not be able to join the induction course upon enrollement. This poor girl immediately went to the press and the whole nation and especially Sarawak were all suprised by this case.Is there is any rulings or guidelines in the Education Ministry regardings the physical of any applicant?

Finally our Deputy Prime Minister,Tan Sri Muhiyidin Yassin step in and made a clarification that there is no such ruling and by right this poor girl should be accepted with immediate effect and he seek an explaination from the Education Ministry regarding the matter. When we think about it all over again,it comes to one CONCLUSION,is there any discrimination in our System?and why is it so?and what explaination could the parties concern gave to the public? And yet, both of them were Dayaks..No,im not trying to play with the Racial Sentiment here but like it or not,IT IS…

Is this the so called 1Malaysia by Najib??When only 1RACE dominan over the others??when discrimination is all over the place,in all over the system? When there is discrimination among Bumiputras??I think now is time for us to think back and analyse the whole situation and scenario.Where we are now?How far we had go?Being a Bumiputra by right yes but which class of Bumiputra we are?1st class?2nd class?or even 3rd class??

  3. They have to act fast to recognize her as bumiputra, so that they can prevent public from questioning bumiputra status of Taib Mahmud’s children. The late Laila Taib was Polish Born (named Lejla Chaleck) and hence their children do not qualify as bumiputra based on the current consitution. Somehow no one brought this up…
